De Kuip in Rotterdam The Netherlands

De Kuip Football Stadium or The Feijenoord Stadion, better known by its nickname de Kuip (the Tub), is a stadium completed in 1937. Today it's called "Stadion Feyenoord" derived from the area "Feijenoord" in Rotterdam, and from the club with the same name. It has a present seating capacity of 51,177. Maximum capacity was 69,000 in 1949.

It is the home stadium of football club Feyenoord, one of the traditional top teams in the Netherlands. It has also long been one of the home grounds of the Dutch national team, having hosted over 150 international matches, with the first one being a match against Belgium on May 2, 1937.

The stadium hosted also a number of European finals. The first one was the final of the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1963 between Tottenham Hostspur from London and Atletico Madrid, the second another Cup Winners’ Cup final in 1968 between AC Milan and Hamburg, followed by the 1972 European Cup final between Ajax Amsterdam and Inter Milan, and another Cup Winners’Cup final in 1974 between Magdeburg and Milan. In the 1980s, De Kuip hosted also the 1982 European Cup final between Aston Villa and Bayern Munich, and the 1985 Cup Winners’ Cup final between Everton FC from Liverpool and Rapid Wien. A fifth and sixth Cup Winners’ Cup final were hosted in 1991 and 1997, the first between Manchester United and Barcelona, and the second between Barcelona FC and Paris Saint-Germain. In 2002, the final of the UEFA Cup was played at De Kuip between Feyenoord and Borussia Dortmund.

In 2000, the Feyenoord stadium hosted also the final of Euro 2000, played in the Netherlands and Belgium, with France beating Italy in extra time.
