Book early to get the best prices close to the race track

To make sure you nab the best deals on hotel rooms, book early to get the best prices and avoid the disappointment of overbooked hotels and guest accommodation.

The town of Spielberg in Austria

Formula One might be one of the most high octane sports around, but that doesn't mean you can't kick back and enjoy some tranquility during your visit to Spielberg.

You'll be able to unwind in beautiful surroundings during your stay, with stunning views of rolling Austrian hillside, vineyards and historical townships and communes. Perfect for helping relax your eardrums after an action-packed day at the track, you'll be right in the heart of Styria when you visit Spielberg, one of the biggest and most beautiful states in Austria.

Expect historic Austrian architecture, delicious local cuisine and a true taste of traditional life when you visit here. While many of the more modern hotels and guest accommodation near the Red Bull Ring circuit itself are catered toward the more international travel, venture further afield and you may find yourself having to unearth your local phrase book or translation help to get you through some of the more complex exchanges you'll face.

German is the officially recognized language here, although English is also common, especially in the hospitality industry.

You can opt to stay in the city of Graz

If you prefer the comforts of a more cosmopolitan setting, the city of Graz might be a better choice for shorter stays. The second largest city in Austria (after Vienna), Graz is located around 50 kilometres away, and offers much more variety when it comes to hotels and guest accommodation.

Although you may want to stay closer to the track for at least part of your trip, booking some of your stay in Graz itself gives you plenty of opportunity to explore more of Austrian life. However, if you do indeed to back and forth between the Red Bull Bring and Austria's second city, bear in mind local transport links aren't as dependable as elsewhere in the country.

A rental car or shuttle bus is an essential if you're serious about covering this distance daily during days' long racing schedules.
