Leeds city districts

The Civic Quarter of Leeds is located just north of the city centre. It's an area where you can find many museums and galleries. Main sights found in the Civic Quarter are Leeds Magistrates and Crown Courts, Leeds Town Hall, The City Library, City Gallery, Millennium Square and Leeds Civic Hall.

The quarter lies also within close distance of Leeds Metropolitan University and the University of Leeds. Leeds College of Art and the Park Lane and Technology campuses of Leeds City College are also located nearby.

South of The Headrow Avenue lies the Shopping District where you can many of the city's premier shopping streets. Most streets in the Shopping Quarter are connected to Briggate, one of the main shopping streets of the city centre.

Leeds Cultural Quarter lies just south - east of the city center. In this area you will find famous Leeds Royal Armouries Museum, one of the city's major tourist attractions. Other sights in the Cultural Quarter are the BBC building, the West Yorkshire Playhouse and the Leeds College of Music.

The Financial Quarter of Leeds is centered around Georgian Park Square, north west of the main railway station. It's an area with mainly major financial companies and offices, but also an area where you can find several hotels, restaurants and pubs.

Leeds Skyscraper Quarter is a city centre area with many of the city's tallest buildings such as the Bridgewater Place, an an office and residential skyscraper and the tallest building in Yorkshire.
