The Riverside Stadium of MFC in North Yorkshire

The Riverside Football Stadium is the home ground of Middlesbrough FC or The Boro. The Riverside Stadium was the first stadium designed and constructed to comply with the Taylor Report and was opened on August 26 1995 with a match between Boro and Chelsea football club. It replaced the old Ayresome Park stadium.

It has an all seater capacity of 34,988 and has become one of the landmarks of the Middlesbrough skyline, towering over the Tees, east of the city centre.

Middlesbrough Football Club also offers guided stadium tours that include visits to the dressing rooms, the referee room, players tunnel, boardroom, press room, and directors box. These guided tours run on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm, and on Sunday at 12:30 pm.

The local rivals of the club are Sunderland AFC at the Stadium of Light, Newcastle United playing at St James Park and Leeds United playing at Elland Road.

From the north -- approaching Middlesbrough on the A19 cross over the River Tees and take A66 eastbound towards Middlesbrough town centre. Stay on A66 past the town centre (on your right) and follow signs to the stadium which you will see on your left.

From the south -- leave the A1(M) at junction 49, signposted to Teesside, and join the A168, which after approximately 11 miles will become the A19. Approximately 19 miles later take the A66 eastbound towards Middlesbrough town centre. Stay on A66 past the town centre (on your right) and follow signs to the stadium which you will see on your left.

From the west -- leave the A1(M) at Junction 57 onto the A66(M). Follow signs to Teesside on the A66. In approximately 18 miles you will pass Middlesbrough town centre (on your right) and follow signs to the stadium which you will see on your left.
