Jan Breydel Football Stadium in Bruges Belgium

Jan Breydel Stadion Football Stadium was initially called Olympia Stadium. Since 1998 the football ground is called Jan Breydelstadion. It's is a multi-use stadium in Bruges, Belgium owned by the city and is the home stadium of the two professional football clubs of the city ; Club Brugge and Cercle Brugge. It is used mostly for football matches. The stadium has 30,000 seats and was built in 1975. It is named after Jan Breydel, an instigator of the Bruges Matins, the insurgent that lead to the Battle of the Golden Spurs.

During the Euro 2000 tournament the Jan Breydel Stadion hosted three group matches and the quarter-final between France and Spain.

By Bus -- By bus from the main railway station, take either line 5 or 15 in the direction of St.-Andries. The ride takes about 15 minutes and it is a further 5 minutes walking from stop Sint-Andries.

By Car -- from where the E40 and A17 intersect (junction 8), follow the directions for the city of Brugge (N31). Continue on the N31 for almost 4 kilometres, and take the exit towards Vogelzang. At the roundabout at the end of the ramp turn left onto the Koningin Astridlaan and follow the signs to the stadium.

On foot from the city centre -- follow Gistelse Steenweg westbound out of the city gates. To get to the relevant gate from the Markt, follow Sint-Jakobsstraat northwards, and then turn left into Noordzandstraat. Allow yourself 25 minutes to walk from the city centre.
