Ibrox Football Stadium - Glasgow Rangers F.C. - Glasgow Scotland

Ibrox Football Stadium is the home ground of Rangers FC. IBROX has four stands the Bill Struth Main Stand, Govan, Copland and Broomloan with the away support in the corner between the Govan stand and Broomloan. There is also a Superstore at Ibrox and has also been the venue for concerts by major artists.

Ibrox is one of the few stadiums in Europe with a 5 stars. The only other football stadiums in Scotland with rated 5 stars is Hampden Park. Among other 5 star European stadiums are the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, the AOL Arena in Hamburg and the Stade de France in Paris. Ibrox achieved its record attendance in 1939 when 118,567 supporters visited the Old Firm match against Celtic Glasgow.

The stadium has also a small museum which can be visited on a daily basis, and combined with a mini tour of the stadium that include access to the home dressing room, the players tunnel, dugouts, and the trophy room.

In 1902 the stadium was mainly constructed of wooden stands when one of the terraces collapsed and killed 26 people. In 1971 the Ibrox stadium was the site of another disaster when a crush developed on a staircase in the game versus Celtic, killing 77 people.

Directions By Car -- On the M8 motorway, travelling west from the Kingston Bridge, exit at either Junction 24 (Helen Street), Junction 25 (Cardonald) or Junction 26 (Hillington). The M74 westbound (new section of road) joins just prior to Junction 24 of the M8. Drivers of westbound vehicles travelling to Ibrox for home games are encouraged to exit at Tradeston where they can either travel onto the M77 and come off at Junction 1 (Dumbreck Road) or turn right onto Carnoustie Street and left onto Paisley Road and head to Ibrox Stadium from there.
